Looking For Inspiration on Lessons For the New School Year?
I’ve been teaching for many years now, and I still love to begin each school year by brushing up on my routines and procedures. It’s not that I don’t know what to do, it’s that I sometimes get out of my rhythm. Re-reading tried and true methods always helps get my school year off on the right foot.
I’m always on the lookout for engaging beginning-of-the-year lessons as well. My philosophy is always to have extra activities planned for the first couple of weeks of school. This ensures that my students remain engaged and in the habit of learning.
Check out my slide presentations below. They work perfectly on your Promethean or Smart Board, and are highly engaging. They are perfect for your standards based literacy lessons. I use these each day as my literacy lesson. They have the literacy story inside of them, so I never have to hunt for my books.
