Introduce Fables and Folktales to your class with this Google Slides and PowerPoint presentation. This presentation is designed to be your minilesson for fables and folktales. The lesson contains 25 slides, as well as an exit slip that can be used to assess your students understanding of both of these genres.

The presentation teaches students what a genre is. It teaches students what both a fable and folktale are, and compares and contrasts the two. This presentation explains what a moral is, and teaches students how to find the moral of a story.

These slides contain a reading passage of “Chicken Little”, and allow students to identify the genre, as well as the moral of the story.

This lesson also contains a link to a Google Slides version of both the presentation and exit slip.
