May 8th – Five For Friday

We had a busy week again.  Here are our five for Friday. . .

I brought in my Russian Matryoshka dolls and we read The Littlest Matryoshka Doll.  Then my students began creating their Mother’s Day projects which are Matryoshka Doll Crafts.  They are truly the cutest things.  Thank you to Debbie Bryant for creating this wonderful activity.

I finally finished my Dinosaur unit!  We officially have six more weeks of school left, so this is the perfect time for us to begin learning about dinosaurs!  My students are so excited, and to be honest I am too.  I am so happy with the way my unit turned out.

We finished working with Fables this week.  It’s been a fun unit, and my students have gained a lot of literary experience.

We had our second Passport presentation.  This week we learned about Venezuela.  I love having family members come in and present on countries they’ve lived in or visited.  It is such a fun cultural activity to do with students.  It is also a great way to keep a strong sense of community in the classroom.

I went to my first White Sox game of the season.  We won against the Detroit Tigers!!  Go SOX!!
Happy Friday
